About
My name is Liz Holcombe, and I work at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. The opinions I express here are mine, and are not necessarily those of my employer.
I work as a web manager. I trained as a librarian and a teacher, and am working towards a master’s degree in internet communication. (This possibly sounds grander than it is.)
I was born in Melbourne, and grew up on an 86,000 acre sheep station in , 70 miles south west of Hughenden in western Queensland. I’ve worked in university libraries too long ago to admit to. I’ve been a librarian and a curator before becoming the web manager at the Memorial, where I’ve worked since mid 1996.
Why Nimble gidgee? I like the words. Gidgee (Acacia cambagei) is an Australian tree with an unforgetable smell. It is not nimble at all, but I like the way the two words fit together.
